Brandon Robinson, MPA, CPM
Brandon Robinson serves as Director of Justice Strategies for the Clean Slate RI and Stop Torture RI campaigns at OpenDoors, where he advocates for criminal record expungement and works to reform harmful conditions within Rhode Island's criminal justice system. He brings a deeply personal perspective to this work, having built his career and education during and after serving 15 years in prison. He began his career at OpenDoors as a community organizer focused on solitary confinement reform. He is also an alumnus and serves as a Lab Faculty member and a Board Member at College Unbound and previously served on the board of Direct Action Rights & Equality (DARE).
Before entering this work, Robinson was a Corporate Trainer at Volare Management Group, recruiting, hiring, and training Account Executives in direct marketing for Fortune 500 clients like Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. He founded Higher Level Management and Consulting, LLC, and the Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Initiative (JDPI), a nonprofit that supports youth and prevents justice-system involvement.
Robinson holds a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership and Change from College Unbound, a Master's in Public Administration and Public Management from Roger Williams University, and is pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Leadership and Psychology at William James College.
He also works as a lobbyist advocating for legislation that would codify solitary confinement reform policies, reform bail and probation violation practices, require body cameras for Rhode Island correctional staff, and expand automatic expungement under Clean Slate RI.
